Each month, Canvas — a blog by Saatchi Art — showcases an emerging artist from around the world who is already garnering attention for their work. “One To Watch” presents some of the most exciting artists on Saatchi Art helping collectors to discover strong emerging talent.
There's a lot of magic in the natural world, oftentimes just steps from our front door. Last year, with the amazing support of biologist Laura Heady over at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, I documented an amazing natural event that takes place under the cover and darkness and rain in New York’s Hudson River estuary watershed.
The story, which found a home in this month’s issue of Smithsonian Magazine, highlights the annual migration several amphibian species make to vernal pools to breed, the volunteers that brave the elements to assist them in fragmented habitats, and the importance of protecting small wetlands.
This is a special project for me as it takes place every year quite close to home and is yet another reminder of the biodiversity in our own backyards.
If you live in the Hudson Valley and would like to get involved in the project check out the Amphibian Migrations & Road Crossing’s Project.
The story is available both online and in the print version of the magazine: Why Did the Salamander Cross the Road?

Excited to have my Limited Edition 40" x 26" aluminum print, titled "Dragonglass" included in Saatchi Art's Spring 2022 Catalog. The catalog is distributed to a quarter million American households. That doesn't happen everyday!!
For a closer look at Dragonglass...
And some background on the image....
Greenland is a magical place. Amongst its treasures is an iceberg graveyard in a far corner of Scoresby Sound where icebergs have their last hurrah. Amongst a diverse and astounding collection of nature's sculptures, I came upon this beauty contoured by the salt and sea.
As I circled this monolith immersed in sub-zero water, I could literally hear the bomb-like explosions of neighboring icebergs as they imploded. Scary and exhilirating all at once, I made this over-under image just before heading to the nearby safety of the zodiac vessel.

On Saturday, September 25th I was fortunate to spend the day at West Elm in Paramus, New Jersey sharing my work and meeting the local community. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with new collectors and also reveal some new additions to the shop, such as, journals, wood prints, and smaller, framed paper prints. Thank you, West Elm!
]]>This past summer, Saatchi Art included my image, Arcadia, in their Best of 2021 Mid-Year Report. My image was one of 138 artworks curated by the Rebecca Wilson, Chief Curator and VP, Art Advisory at Saatchi Art.
The image is of a moment of softness and tranquility in the unforgiving, mountainous terrain of Antarctica and is available for purchase on sustainable Agave Fine Art Paper.
